On my birthday, Chase had some last minute work stuffs to do and after that he was free to hang out with me. I was busy with moving stuffs, so I didn't really think about my birthday much. He surprised me by taking me out to
Duck's for lunch. If you're ever there for lunch, (dinner is kinda pricey but lunch is way cheap) the goat cheese citrus salad and the tuscan burger are the BEST. My BLT was just okay.
Afterwards, Chase surprised me with a tour through the
Duplin Winery.Our favorite wine is French Cote du Rhone red wine, but who can resist trying a local
muscadine wine? We signed up at the Duplin store and within the half hour we were on our way to seeing how wine was made!
Our tour guide was super informative and fun. Afterwards, we went to the best part: the tasting~.
We've been to a couple of tastings before, but they teach you how to taste wine "correctly" if you want to learn.
We had a great time at Duck's and Duplin. We highly recommend it if you're in the Jacksonville, NC area and want something fun to do on a Saturday afternoon.
