DIY Chair refinish

I saw this chair the other day at a used furniture store and HAD to take it home and refinish it. I've been wanting to do a project like this for a long time. Now since I've got a giant SUV, I finally can do this without figuring out some serious logistics of how to fit this into a regular sedan.

So, it looked like this when I got it. Which, isn't too bad, but it really didn't fit with my style. Plus, it had those floor protecting things glued to the bottom. So, I went ahead and sanded it down several times with different grains, wiped it down, then painted it with acrylic paint. I can't tell you what color because I custom mixed several colors to get this "Tiffany" blue.

I'll probably sand it down and rough it up a little to give it a little "rustic/antique" look but I love it. It looks okay here, but it looks great on the beach!

Definitely my new favorite prop. :)

Okinawa Photography: What to wear to your spring session

It's springtime here in Okinawa. We've finally had some beautiful, warm, sunny days to remind us why living the island life is so great. I've only been able to go to the beach a couple of times this Spring but I'm sure I'll be going even more as the weather warms up. Can't wait for the rain to go away! I know as soon as it gets really hot, I'll wish for snowy weather and Christmas songs. But for now, I'm enjoying the warm days.
I took this like a month ago in Yomitan. I love sunsets here.
Anyways, here's some ideas of what to wear for upcoming spring sessions. Make sure to dress is layers so when the sun starts going down, you can keep warm!

Okinawa Newborn Photographer: Baby I

I took baby I's first portraits when she was just a few days old. She was so sweet and extra sleepy. I just saw her a few days ago and within a month she's gotten so big! It just goes to show how fast children grow and how important it is to have their newborn portraits taken as soon as possible. Thank you F family for allowing me into your home to capture these! :)

I want to extend a special thank you to Lissette from Erin's Boutique! She made these super cute headbands and my clients absolutely love them! You can find her Facebook page here-> Erin's Boutique

*This review was not sponsored. I bought the headbands myself. Support your local artisans! :)

Okinawa Newborn Photographer: Baby K

Baby K's family was the first to answer my newborn model call. Isn't she the sweetest? She made us work for these shots but it was oh-so-worth it! Thank you for modeling for me. :)

Okinawa Maternity Photography: The F Family

Adam and Sarah answered my latest maternity model call. I'm so glad that they did because they are one of the sweetest couples! I had so much fun just hanging out with them on the beach for a couple of hours. Adam and Sarah thank you for being so awesome! Can't wait to meet your little boy! :)

Okinawa Engagement Photography: Trey & Mako

Happy New Year! This is my first blog post of the new year as I have been seriously behind on my blogging. But, this is a good one! I was contacted by these two so I could do their engagement pictures before he had to leave to go back to the States. These two are so cute together! Thank you for allowing me to capture this moment in your lives!
