Hisashiburi~! (Long time no see~!) Sorry I've been neglecting posting on the blog. We were super busy over the holidays. But I've updated the look. What do you think? Anyways, I'll quickly, with lots of pictures, go over the rest of our trip. The last island was
St. Martaan or St. Martin. The island is divided is half and belongs to the dutch and the french. This was our favorite island. And it also so happened that it was the only day it didn't rain on us.
After getting off the ship, we waited in our line for the island tour. Next time we go on a cruise, I'm never leaving the room without playing cards. You do a lot of waiting in lines. Anyways, after waiting forever, we hopped on our bright pink bus and toured the island. Our guide was really knowledgeable. Unfortunately, with the amount of
really insistent name-dropping of stores, he was kind of unreliable shopping wise. We could totally tell he was getting money under the table.
The island had wild horses. Chase had to drag me back into the bus because I wanted to take pictures of everything. Yeah, I was
that person.
It was nearing lunchtime when we entered the French side of St. Martin. Our guide insisted we go to this one cafe. Insisted so much that he followed us while shouting directions. We kept walking and figured out a place where some of the locals eat: Sarafina's, a French cafe. We totally love French food so we almost ran inside.
Picking out what to eat, was like picking out a puppy. Except you don't eat puppies you pick...At least, we don't.
We finally decided on a smoked salmon and salami sandwiches. They were probably one of the most delicious sandwiches ever.
Chase approves of the sandwich.
After lunch, we HAD to have dessert. I We decided on the strawberry custard torte...thing. It was everything I wanted in a dessert.
After the bus tour, we walked around the island and goofed off....
Ate some really good jerk chicken....
Went to a little cafe for nutella crepe and coffee (we travel while eating, haha).....
Then we hopped on a trusty water taxi and headed back to the ship.
The last night on the ship was bitter-sweet. We were kind of sick of being on the boat, but it was our first cruise and... we're sentimental, haha. We ate at the sushi restaurant like 4 nights out of 7, so the people there knew us by name. The last night we agreed that we pretty much HAD to eat sushi. The chef even made his osusume (chef's special) sushi roll for me.
(Our room)
We had a blast and are already planning our next cruise from mainland Japan to perhaps Russia? We'll see. We just know that we're going to make sure there's a rock-climbing wall. Thanks Norweigian Sun!
