This was our first view of Charleston, SC, the first stop on our anniversary trip. My husband said "Look! It's Mordor! ...It's just missing that huge eye." That was when I thought "Yup. This is the man I married. He really speaks to my inner-geek. Sexy." ;p
The next several days, (actually the entirety of our trip) was rainy. Lots and lots of rain. But that didn't stop me from lugging about 12 lbs of camera equipment and makeup around in my bag. Charleston was absolutely beautiful! A lot of the old churches here had really old cemeteries.
For dinner, we ate at the lovely French restaurant, Rue de Jean, that came with high reviews from a local Charlestoner. It was sooo freaking good!!! We had a type of lamb salad for the appetizer. Then I had salmon and he had duck confit. We ended up trading as we liked what the other had much more. I won't lie. The entire time we were in the restaurant, I was quoting the movie Julie and Julia.
After dinner, we headed to O'Hara and Flynn's Wine and Cheese bar for a wine tasting. We had some 5 year old gouda, another cheese that I can't remember, and Peruvian wine. Well, I had more of the wine as Chase had to drive.
The next day we drove for a LONG time to Cape Canaveral. Part 2 coming soon~!
